Katina Boykin joined Visit-A-Bit as a volunteer after she became an empty-nester and wanted to find opportunities to do something different with her time, something that allowed her to help people. She was partnered with Ira with whom she has developed a friendship over the past few months, a friendship she knows she would not have made if not for the Visit-A-Bit program. Katina appreciates that Visit-A-Bit is an easy way to help combat loneliness in seniors because it only requires an hour of time while still allowing volunteers to help someone.
